Welcome to Wiltshire Digital Drive!

Wiltshire Digital Drive is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to refurbish and recycle donated laptops to gift back to the community, enabling education and bridging the digital divide.

WDD is a not-for-profit organisation and every penny raised, or device donated goes directly to support the Wiltshire community.

Three businesses, Priority IT, Naturally Social and Turner and Partners all work with us on a pro-bono basis, as part of their CSR strategies.

From April 2020 to May 2023, over 2400 laptops have been refurbished, recycled and gifted back into the local community, but we still have much more to do!

Schools, charities, organisations, councils and families from across Wiltshire have all benefited from the scheme.

Where it all Bee-gan!

“Our mission and purpose; just like a bee brings pollen from flower to flower to help the environment, we bring technology from person to person to enable education, knowledge and learning.”

Creating a buzz

Working with Naturally Social:

Natalie and the rest of the team at Naturally Social support us and help spread the word through local radio, news and social media promotion.

Laptops, PC’s and tablets – as well as other unused tech – have been donated from residents and businesses from all corners of Wiltshire, as well as further afield – the furthest to date being from Manchester!

The scheme has received both local and national recognition with features on BBC Points West and BBC Breakfast, even becoming South West Awards’ COVID-19 Community Champions award winners!

Bee the difference

You can help us achieve more,

We are always looking for funding through donations to help us cover the cost of upgrading and refurbishing devices.

The parts required to upgrade a machine include replacement of The Hard Drive, Memory and Wi-Fi modules, as well as providing a laptop bag to make transport, storage and protection of the devices easier!

We can also replace faulty components such as keyboards, monitors and chargers when needed, which these funds also support!

£30 could help us securely wipe, update, and refurbish one laptop that will go directly to a young person or family in need, in Wiltshire.

Help us to keep buzzing…

Get involved and spread the word!
