Corporate Fundraiser

Wiltshire Digital Drive – Corporate Fundraiser

Corsham – £25,000

Do you want to make an impact in your local community? Wiltshire Digital Drive is a Community Interest Company (CIC) which aims to bridge the digital divide by enabling access to the benefits of technology. We do this by refurbishing and recycling donated laptops to gift back to local people in need.

Established early in the pandemic to fulfil an immediate need to provide devices for families struggling with home-schooling, the CIC now allocated over 1300 laptops – not only for children to access education, but also to community groups, charities and individuals at risk of isolation. We’ve saved 6.5 tonnes of tech from going to landfill in the last 18 months and our work has already been recognised through regional media coverage and local community awards. We’re proud of our achievements to date but there is so much more to do, and that’s where you come in…

We have secured funding from The National Lottery for a three-year fixed-term Corporate Fundraiser. This role is focused on driving sponsorship and donations from corporate organisations and forming partnerships to support the development and sustainability of Wiltshire Digital Drive. The longer-term vision for the role is that the postholder will generate sufficient income so that the post becomes self-funding and therefore a permanent part of the team.

Bringing your proven track record in corporate fundraising, combined with qualifications or relevant experience in PR/marketing and your passion for our purpose, you will use your strong communication and influencing skills to grow our Business Hive membership, secure corporate donations and gain pledges for laptop refresh schemes. You will be a confident networker with the ability to identify relevant contacts and build relationships through both face-to-face events and LinkedIn. Your research and analytical skills will help you to identify potential opportunities and convert these through attention-grabbing communications and direct approaches. You may have developed relevant skills in a business-to-business sales environment or relationship manager role.

You will have the opportunity to develop your coaching skills and supervisory experience through line managing our project support assistant and potentially helping us build the team further as we expand. We would expect you to have some prior experience of using social media for business purposes, however, an added bonus is that we are supported by award-winning social media agency Naturally Social, so opportunities to further enhance your digital communications skills will be on tap!

The starting salary of £25,000 is fixed by the grant we have received for this post, however, there is funding confirmed for annual incremental rises over three years. This is a full-time role based primarily from the Digital Mansion in Corsham, with some flexibility for an element of home-working to be agreed. However, recognising the importance of balancing life outside of work, we will also consider applications from candidates who wish to work reduced hours (at least 30 per week) over 4 or 5 days. Benefits include 25 days A/L + bank holidays.

Interested? Please apply with a CV and covering letter outlining what appeals to you about joining the Wiltshire Digital Drive team and what makes you a stand-out candidate Please email: info@wiltshiredigitaldrive.org before the 8th May 2022 with interviews being held on Tuesday 17th May at the Digital Mansion, Corsham. We look forward to hearing from you!
